Colorado E-Bike Rebate Reopens August 24 for First Time Since 2024
Colorado’s popular statewide income-qualified e-bike rebate program is returning for a new round of applications. Four registration windows will open over the next year to receive up to $1,300 off an e-bike for the first time since 2024! Run by the Colorado Energy Office, this program provides huge point-of-sale vouchers to help income-eligible Coloradans access clean, efficient transportation.
E-Bike Rebate Release Dates
Coloradans must register for an e-bike rebate voucher during one of the designated open windows. Registration will be open during the following dates:
- Monday, August 24, 2026 – Monday, August 31, 2026
- Monday, October 19, 2026 – Monday, October 26, 2026
- Monday, January 11, 2027 – Monday, January 18, 2027
- Monday, March 15, 2027 – Monday, March 22, 2027
Registration periods open at 11:00 AM MT on the start date and close at 12:00 PM MT on the end date.
Available Vouchers if you qualify
Base E-Bike Voucher: $1,000 off
E-Cargo Bike Add-on: Additional $300 ($1,300 total) for bikes with extended frames capable of carrying at least 100 lbs of cargo or additional passengers.
Adaptive E-Bike Add-on: Additional $300 ($1,300 total)
$250 E-Bike Tax Credit available for all residents
If you do not meet the income criteria for the full rebate voucher, all Colorado residents remain eligible for the $250 State E-Bike Tax Credit. This discount is applied directly at checkout at participating local bicycle shops upon showing a valid Colorado ID.

Who qualifies for the rebate
To qualify you must have household income below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your county. look below to see if you qualify or check all statewide AMI charts at the Colorado Division of Housing
Example: You live in El Paso County. There are 3 people in your household. Your household income would need to be below $83,800 to be eligible for for a voucher

Eligible E-Bikes
Vouchers can be applied to a new purchase of a Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 E-Bike with an electric motor of 750 watts or less from a Colorado bicycle retailer.
Not Eligible
E-Bikes over $5,000
Full-suspension mountain bikes
E-cargo bikes and adaptive E-Bikes are eligible for an additional $300 incentive
Since E-cargo bikes and Adaptive E-Bikes can be significantly more expensive than standard e-bikes the $5,000 Maximum does not apply to these categories.
To be eligible for this additional incentive these cycle must fit the following criteria:
E-cargo bikes: must have an extended frame designed to carry additional people or cargo. E-cargo bikes must be designed to carry passengers or a heavy load
Adaptive e-bikes: rebate is for individuals unable to ride a standard e-bike or e-cargo bike without modifications
