Bike Colorado Springs bringing a Bicycle Ambassador Program program to fruition. If you are a community-minded individual, we are looking for people like you help us make a program modeled after the Fort Collins Bicycle Ambassador Program a reality in the Pikes Peak Region.

How Bike COS Bicycle Ambassadors can provide support
Support
Support Open Streets events where neighborhood streets are repurposed for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Celebrate
Celebrate, including grand openings of new urban trails and streets that are designed and built to accommodate people
Host
Host rides and socials to connect bike riders with local business and restaurants
Lead
Provide leadership and mentorship to people who want to ride more, local community centers and community groups.
Teach
Work with our Education Committee to provide introduction to riding and bike safety classes
Three levels of Bike Ambassadors
Bronze – Can support events with other Bike Ambassadors
Requirements (Aprox 2hrs)
Pass Safety Exam
Pass BikeCOS 101 Exam
Attend Bicycle Ambassador Orientation
Silver – Can assist with rides and classes
Requirements (Aprox 8hrs total) – In addition to Bronze:
Become League of American Bicyclists Smart Cycling Certified (4hrs)
Pass Auto friendly cyclist or bike friendly driver class (1.5hrs)
Gold – Can lead rides and teach classes
Requirements (Aprox 20hrs total) – In addition to Silver:
Complete League Cycling Instructor curriculum (8hrs)
CPR Certified (2hrs)
