Saturday May 12th marks the kick off of the Tour of Colorado Gravel race series. This first two events of this series will be happening in the Pikes Peak region, starting with the Fountain-Roubix, with the Palmer divide on June 9th. The Fountain-Roubix starts and ends in downtown Fountain making great use of roads in our back yard featuring a 99.8 mile course that using Fountain and El Paso county gravel roads. There are three distance options at this event, the 100 Miler, a 100Km race (66 miles) or a 40 Mi race.
Weekend festivities will start Friday, May 11 at the Buffalo lodge Bicycle Resort with a rider welcome registration & check-in from 2 PM – 8 PM. Day of registration and check in is at 7am-8:30am in downtown fountain with the race starting at 9am. Bike Colorado Springs is sponsoring the Periodic Brewing beer tent at this kick off event which will at 2pm when the race is ending.
The second gravel grinder in the Series, the Palmer Divide is an epic challenge through El Paso and Douglas Counties. The 102 Mile full course starts and ends in downtown Palmer Lake featuring more than 6000 ft of climbing and 98 miles of dirt roads.
