Support Non-motorized Trail Grant Proposals
Two local trail grant proposals being reviewed by Colorado State Parks
The City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department and El Paso County Parks both submitted grants for trail construction through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Non-motorized Recreational Trails Grant program. If awarded, both grants would add significant trail linkages to regionally important trails. The City’s grant would complete two trails in Ute Valley Park and fund the construction of a “Downhill Trail” which would be the first of its kind in Colorado Springs. El Paso County’s grant would fund a 3/4 mile section of the Ute Pass Regional Trail in Cascade.
Both grants are in the public review phase of the grant process. Bike Colorado Springs strongly supports both grants and encourages hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians to go online and express your support as well. To review both proposals click here.
