
New Bike-Permeable Median Installed in Old Colorado City!
This week, the first safety improvement for the future Pikes Peak Avenue Bicycle Boulevard was installed at Pikes Peak Ave and 30th Street in Old Colorado City—a bike-permeable median!

This new feature gives people biking and walking a safer way to cross by providing a protected space to pause halfway. It also helps reduce cut-through vehicle traffic, making Pikes Peak Ave more comfortable for everyone.
This pilot project marks an exciting step toward transforming Pikes Peak Ave into a calmer, safer bicycle boulevard—a vision shared by many residents at our recent community meeting (read more here).
