As we near the end of the first month of 2019, all of us at Bike Colorado Springs can’t help but think about the future.
2018 was a very productive and exciting in regards to bicycle friendliness and connectivity in our city and greater Pikes Peak region. And so much of the credit for that progress goes to you!
And this is just the beginning. One thing we’re working on 2019 is a full-fledged Bicycle Loving Business program and as a current member, you’ll be asked for input on what’s important for local business to support from a bicycle standpoint. We’ll be asking you, as a bike rider, or supporter of bicycling, what would attract you to a certain businesses, and helping these businesses be more attractive for bicyclists.
Riding bikes isn’t only for an elite group of athletes. One of our focus areas at BCS is to show that riding bikes is for everyone, whether you do it for health, environmentalism, recreation, commuting, to save money, necessity or all of the above. We want you by our side as we advocate for a more bike-friendly city where cars aren’t the only safe option to get around.
There’s plenty more planned in 2019 and that’s why we’re writing to you today. We need your help. Please join with all of us at Bike Colorado Springs in lending your voice when we need pro-bike voices heard. Or join BCS as a volunteer for one of our five committees by signing up to be a bicycling advocate.
