Help make biking better in Colorado Springs – survey open now!
Hey Colorado Springs bike riders! We need your input as we continue working to make our city even better for biking. The City has applied to renew our Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) status with the League of American Bicyclists. We were last awarded Silver in 2021, and with your help, we’re aiming to either keep our Silver or even reach Gold this time around!
Your Feedback is Key!
Please take a few minutes to complete the 2025 Colorado Springs Bicycle Friendly Community Survey. This is your chance to share your thoughts on our current biking infrastructure, safety, programs, and overall bike-friendliness.
The survey closes Sunday, October 5th!

Our Goals
We’re committed to building on our current Silver status by:
- Advocating for expanded and improved bikeway networks, including more protected bike lanes.
- Enhancing bicycle safety education for all ages.
- Encouraging more people to choose cycling for transportation and recreation.
- Collaborating with local organizations and residents to create a welcoming cycling environment.
2021 Score card
What did they have to say in 2021?

Engineering, Encouragement, and Evaluation & Planning improved while bicyclist crashes and fatalities increased, despite ridership remaining relatively flat. For more details, you can visit the Bike Colorado Springs 2021 BFC Scores page.
What Is the Bicycle Friendly (BFC) Program?
The BFC program helps communities improve cycling conditions across five areas: Equity & Accessibility, Engineering, Education, Encouragement, and Evaluation & Planning – Learn more about the League’s 5 Es. Achieving a higher status means better bike infrastructure, more safety programs, and a stronger cycling culture. Your experiences directly help us and the City highlight what’s working and where we can improve.
Award results are expected to be announced in December 2025.
