A 4-week session, 7-9pm every Friday in May at the 7-11 Olympic Velodrome, 250 S Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910
Come out to Women’s Night at the track and learn how to ride on the velodrome in a no-pressure setting. Even if you have no intention of racing, learning how to ride on a velodrome will enhance your bike skills and make you a more confident rider – and we promise it will be fun!
Friday, May 5th
First time on a track bike? No problem! We’ll be going over track etiquette and safety, starting and stopping and what the different lines on the track designate. By the end of the night you’ll be riding in a pace line with confidence.
Friday, May 12th
Learn how to use the track’s banking to slow down or speed up. We’ll work on accelerations and sprinting. We’ll also discuss how to optimize your gearing.
Friday, May 19th
Get comfortable riding with people. We’ll discuss drafting and sling shots and practice riding in a group.
Friday, May 26th
There are a lot of ways you can race on the track – sometimes it’s just a solo timed event where you are racing by yourself! Learn about the different types of track races and the difference between sprint and endurance events. Each type of race has a different set of strategies. We’ll close the night with some mock races to test out some of the strategies we’ve learned.
**If you miss a week, don’t be discouraged to come to a later clinic. We’ll get you up to speed and make sure you feel comfortable riding.
What to bring?
