Siera Madre Bike Lane

Thank you for supporting BCS

2018 has been a great year for bicycle riders in Colorado Springs, and we applaud our city staff for the implementation of new bike lanes within our city’s core. This growing network provides a safe and convenient way for commuters, recreational cyclists, students and families to navigate downtown. Stay tuned for a recap of all the bike improvements that have happened in 2018

We at Bike Colorado Springs believe that the freedom to safely move about our city should be a right regardless of your chosen form of transportation. We ask you to join us in our vision for a more bikeable Colorado Springs by volunteering with BCS or voicing your support for a safer, more inclusive transportation network throughout our community.

Join a BCS Committee

In the new year we will be starting a campaign to attract more volunteers to BCS. We currently have two open committee chair positions. These Committee Chairs would join the existing Committee chairs as part of the BCS leadership team helping to shape the direction of BCS through 2019 and into the future. In addition to leadership we are looking for volunteers at all levels to help further the mission of BCS. Read more about our committees on our About Us Page or complete our Become an Advocate form to set up a meeting with a member of our leadership team to learn how to become more involved with BCS. Please stay engaged and watch for more information with our upcoming volunteer drive starting in January.

Make your voice heard

Please make your voice heard  by letting our elected officials and the general public know what you think of the new bike infrastructure from both drivers and bicyclists perspectives. We have received word from city staff that positive letters to City Council and the Mayor are truly making a difference. We also hope that you agree with us that we hope to see a more positive message represented in our local media. You can help by writing letters to the editor recounting how you or your family are interacting with our safer, more inclusive infrastructure.

Attend an event

Please join BCS at future events and rides. Keep tabs on our  Facebook  page and calendar  as our engagement committee organizes many rides throughout the year and our other committees help with a range of events that support bicycling within the Pikes Peak Region. We’d love to see you at one of our rides or events in the future.

Thanks again for supporting BCS and through 2018 and way we hope for you to support safer bicycling throughout Colorado Springs in whatever way you can. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to be involved with BCS in any way.
