Ladies PikeRide October – November ladies ride scheduled
Warm fall breezes and a carpet of gold leaves greeted riders for the third Ladies PikeRide on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Having the opportunity to try the fun purple bikes brought riders out to trace the route on share bicycles from the Lincoln Center and back via the Greenway Trail and Cascade bike lanes. PikeRide’s Executive Director, Jolie Nesmith, was available to help riders check out their PikeRide bikes and after a brief test ride, riders were off riding and chatting with their new companions.
The out and back route included breaks and a stop at the Fine Arts Center where riders took time out for a photo op. The adventure included spectacular views of fall colors in amber and rust. Once back at the Lincoln Center, riders sat down to enjoy the offerings from multiple cafes and coffee shops. All agreed they were grateful to experience the share bicycles in a low-key social setting.
As long as the weather cooperates, the next Ladies PikeRide will be November 24th. This November ride will be the final session in 2018. Visit the Facebook event for more information and be sure to register at this link.

Pike Ride and the Ladies Ride was something I was nervous to do but with the encouragement from the leaders in the group and the team, mentality I felt comfortable as we went on the ride. Before, I had only ever ridden a bike on the street in front of my house but with the group we rode more than 4 miles. Something I went into nervous about and thinking I would leave the group if I got tired or if I couldn’t ride the bike correctly turned into a complete success and a finished trail ride. It was a first experience for me and I have looked forward to doing it again soon. – Elizabeth Taylor (1st time PikeRide user)
