Pikes Peak Greenway Trail Detour
Pikes Peak Greenway Trail Detour begins Monday, Jan. 16, 2017
What: Crews on the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Interstate-25/Cimarron Interchange Design-Build Project will temporarily detour the gravel and paved section of Pikes Peak Greenway Trail at Cimarron Street.
When: This temporary detour is scheduled to go into effect Monday, Jan. 16 and will be in place through Friday, Jan. 20. Please watch for flaggers once the trail reopens due to ongoing construction activity in the area.
Why: This detour is necessary for the old Cimarron Street bridge removal work.
Detour:
- On city streets from America the Beautiful Park – head east on trail/sidewalk from pedestrian bridge over Monument Creek to Cimino Drive (east of America the Beautiful Park) to Conejos Street, go south on Conejos Street to Mill Street. Then head east on Mill Street to Sierra Madre Street, go south on Sierra Madre Street and take the path to Pikes Peak Greenway Trail south.
- On city streets to America the Beautiful Park – take the path to Sierra Madre Street, head north to Mill Street, then go west on Mill Street to Conejos Street. Go north on Conejos Street to Cimino Drive and north on Cimino Drive to America the Beautiful Park.
For Your Safety: Trail users are asked to please obey the closure/detour signs. No transit will be allowed under the Cimarron bridge during this work!
