Bike Clubs and Organizations Collective Picnic Gathering
Bike Colorado Springs (BCS) would like to invite the leadership of bike clubs and organized ride groups (up to 4 leaders from each group) to come together for a “get to know each other” gathering, sponsored by Bike Colorado Springs and hosted by the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. This gathering is motivated by an impromptu get together of bike clubs at last year’s bike summit, resulting in an interest to get to know better what everyone is doing for organized bike rides. Bike Colorado Springs (your local bike advocacy organization) is also interested, because these rides collectively represent the most extensive bicycling encouragement program in our fair city. An ongoing collective effort to provide real support to start more people riding and riding more, makes the best case for a bicycle friendly city.
The event is Sunday, April 2 and will start at 3:00 PM with a social time. This will be a picnic setting moving under cover or indoors if needed. Light munchies will be provided along with, of course, beer, (Special consideration if you ride your bike.) At 3:30 PM everyone will get to introduce their organization and riding program for about 3 minutes. Bike Colorado Springs will start, and we will go from there. At the end we will have a brief discussion of how Bike Colorado Springs can support you and how your organization might support BCS. We will end with a projection of interest in a more formal future, for what we are now calling, the BCS Bike Clubs and Organizations Collective.
