Celebrate Colorado E-Bike day and reapply for E-Bike rebates

September 21st is Colorado E-Bike day. A day to celebrate the freedom E-Bikes can provide residents as the State continues to make Colorado the number one state for E-Bikes in the country. In 2022 Governor Jarred Polis declared September 21st “Co E-Bike Day” as Colorado became the leader in E-Bike rebates. Colorado’s state wide rebate program launched in August 2023 offering e-bike rebates for income-qualifying Coloradans after “Colorado passed the Air Quality Improvement Investments act, which, among other things, earmarked $12 million for electric bike rebate programs”

Missed the first two rounds of Colorado E-Bike rebates or didn’t get selected? Not to worry! Rebates will be awarded monthly, but you will need to apply each month.

Applications for the e-bike rebate program are temporarily paused until February 2024. CEO will reallocate $1.8 million in additional funding to support at least one additional round of statewide e-bike rebate applications in February.

We will update this page with updated application dates as they are announced. For more details, to register, and to sign up for email updates visit the Colorado Energy Office website.

The state-wide program comes on the heals of the City of Denver’s wildly successful e-bike rebate program. Eligible residents who receive a voucher through the state’s lottery system will be able to redeem a discount when they buy an e-bike at a “qualified” bike shop.

Who qualifies for the rebate

The Colorado Energy Office expects the first ever state-wide E-Bike rebates to be available to qualifying low and mid income applicants in August of 2023. These rebate vouchers will be available to income qualifying Coloradoans.

Starting April 2024, rebates open to all residents, regardless of income, at a lower $450 amount without the need to apply for the lottery.

Example: You live in El Paso County. There are 3 people in your household. Your household income would need to be below $66,320 to be eligible for the low-income rebate or below $$82,900 to be eligible for the moderate-income rebate.

Eligible Colorado residents can receive the following incentive amounts for a qualified e-bike purchase. Visit the Colorado Energy Office website to apply and for complete program details

Vouchers can be applied to a new purchase of a Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 E-Bike with an electric motor of Electric motor is 750 watts or less, from a Colorado bicycle retailer.
